To all medical providers who are now opened or are about to open, many states, including New York, require a written safety plan. Federally, a plan is required, but nothing is said about it being written or not. For your own protection, I suggest your plan be written. It need not be burdensome. On the NYS DOH website, you can download a free template for an acceptable safety plan. It should be updated as needed. No “Plan Police” will be ringing your bell anytime soon. However, it could arise in liability issues to prove that you took the prudent steps required to safely re-open.

GOOD LUCK!
